Food for Thought

Today we interrupt our usual programming to bring you guys an audio recording of our Food for Thought segment. Why? Because it’s hard to write on a laptop via candlelight and we wanted to change things up! Senor Beryl has done a number on our beloved city and we hope everyone is giving themself the 5-Star Experience the best that they can. Let us know how you like it!

Top Picks of The Week

Tweet of the Week: Suhail reminds us that it is infinitely more valuable to take action and the value change exponentially grows every step that you take to make whatever you are trying to bring to this world happen…

Product of the Week: As some of us work in the dark this week (thanks Center Point), the product of the week is something we came across at someone’s home who could not stop talking about it…a portable Solar Powered Generator. This thing is beyond economical, slick, and very easy to use. Needless to say once our power came back this was first in the shopping cart.

Foodie Spot of the Week: This week we give a massive shout-out to Texas Mesquite Grille in the Cypress area. They showed the Houston community what a Houstonian does when others are in need by handing out over 3,000 fresh hamburgers at the George R. Brown Center. That is how you step up! If you are ever in the Cypress area, grab one of their juicy burgers and support these guys! Credit Michael Schwab for the photo.

Stories that Inspire:

Lydia Davies

This week, Lydia Davies, the founder of Osprey, showed us what it means to be resourceful and resilient. Not only is she running a business, but she's also juggling the demands of being a mom. When a hurricane hit, Lydia and her family faced it head-on with a positive attitude.

Check out Lydia’s post to see how they made the best of a tough situation and kept their spirits high. It’s a great reminder that sometimes, a glass-half-full outlook makes all the difference.
